My duties included review of customer specifications for blast and paint requirements. Daily enviromental readings, check blast equipment, abrasive for cleanliness. Inspect the surface prep on all jobs, from simple solvent wipe, through using nearly every imaginable abrasive on the market. Kept heat numbers and certs for pipe that was being coated. Holiday tested FBE coatings on natural gas pipe. Inspect application of coatings, during the application process as well as immediately following completion of application. Work with customers, reps, and 3rd party inspectors. Training of blasters, painters, and field inspectors. Kept all training and inspection records, as well as equipment calibration and certification records. We kept a spotless QP3 Certification during my time as QC Manager and Plant Manager. As plant manager I was responsible for scheduling all work coming through the shop. I worked with customers to meet their schedules, as well as making sure quality was held to the highest level. I was responsible for all purchases of coating materials, blasting abrasives, and other supplies. Responsible for shop safety and environmental meetings and inspections.
