This system ensured Atico’s Executive Management and our outside regulatory counsel are simultaneously aware of potential product and regulatory issues.- Assisted the General Counsel with all phases of litigation - Created and implemented an intellectual property evaluation program for Product Development staff. Through proactive education and evaluating proposed projects from the beginning of the project lifecycle, infringement allegations/lawsuits were reduced from three or four per week to less than a dozen per year. The program resulted in substantial corporate savings and greater business certainty for our customers.- Created weekly intellectual property status reports for Executive Management. Time consuming weekly meetings were replaced with easy to understand “at a glance” spreadsheet reports.- Designed and implemented an optical scan project for Atico’s substantial copyright library. This allowed Atico personnel to search thirty years of copyright registrations for product development and litigation purposes. This resulted in considerable savings of money and time during both litigation discovery and product development since merchandisers are able to use previous art as inspiration for new designs.
