Oversaw operations technology team for Lyft’s expansion into bike and scooter sharing, including Citybike and all North American bike-share systems such as Divvy and Bluebikes. Guided operational integration of acquisitions. Equipped team with advanced dispatch tools and support for field staff. Managed 15-20 engineers, conducted performance reviews, led architectural overhauls, and drove hiring to strengthen team capabilities. • Developed and implemented field tooling for bike mechanics, ensuring fulfillment of contractual obligations and maintaining fleet’s rideability. • Leveraged data analytics to inform design improvements, reducing maintenance costs by millions of dollars. • Drove and preserved enterprise value through Lyft acquisition by helping to integrate Motivate products into Lyft.

Led software org that delivered first generation IoT bikes and was acquired by Lyft:- ~60 Software Engineers on 8 teams covering Mobile, Web, Backend and Infrastructure- Defined strategy for entire Software org as we delivered a new generation of vehicle, expansions across multiple markets, and integrated the acquisition from the previous year- Led technical due diligence for Lyft acquisition & represented Engineering in acquisition process- Identified & developed managers & senior ICs who were later successful at Lyft- Led Software Engineering across NYC and Montreal offices, including hiring, retention, culture, diversity, and process

At the end of Techstars I was hired by my favorite company from the program. It was a mobile-first messaging service aimed at the film, hospitality, and logstics industries. I was the 3rd full time engineer and 5th employee. In that first year we:Built a unified API using Ruby on Rails to serve data to iOS, Android, and web clientsBuilt a complete single page frontend app using Backbone.js and Marionette.jsBuilt a highly parallel messaging system using Sidekiq and RedisMoved off of Heroku onto Amazon Web Services and took operational ownership of our application server, databases, and other infrastructureBuilt a continuous delivery pipeline for automated testing and deployment using Jenkins

I spent 3 months at the Techstars NYC Startup Accelerator, helping the Spring 2012 class build the original version of their products. The Hackstars are part of Techstars but not associated with any particular company. We provided technical and design assistance to one or more startups per week, helping them build the first versions of their products. Since half the companies didn't have a technical cofounder, this often involved helping to make high level architectural decisions, build quick prototypes for investor meetings, vet technical hires, and understand the technical possibilities and limits on what they were trying to achieve.Over the course of the 3 month accelerator program I worked with half of the 14 companies, getting experience with a wide variety of businesses, technologies, and company cultures.

I was the first full-time programmer and first American employee of a Dutch 3D printing marketplace. I fixed bugs and added features to a legacy codebase, improved uptime and responsiveness, wrote the first functional and unit tests on the project, and built 3D modeling tools for the web using Javascript, WebGL, and Processing.js.

Led the Web Team of 6 people to modernize the company's online presence. I managed the work of people on my team, attended managers' meetings, interfaced with other departments, and made the departmental budget.
