I have worked in local government for over 20 years focusing on the development of new and innovative services due to my proven ability to achieve results and implement change. For the last five years I was head of service for Suffolk County Council's residential homes and lead manager for adult safeguarding.I am now using this varied and extensive experience to support new care and housing services to meet the new financial challenges and community expectations. Working with the Housing LIN and EAC we have launched a new online analysis tool and consultancy SHOP@ to support sound project planning and financial investment in care and housing services for older people. Good networks and partnerships have been developed and specific consultancies have been undertaken. This work has now been extended to include a full project management service for an extensive overall review for a local authority,I have recently taken on the lead eastern Region role for the Housing LIN which will extend and develop my regional and national networks across housing, care and health..As part of the divestment of the council’s 16 residential homes I led 1400 staff through a substantial change programme, maintaining high quality standards. I have reassured the extensive stakeholder group, which has resulted in them remaining engaged in this challenging project. It has required complex process systems to ensure swift and secure financial and HR service transfer. All achieved on a very tight timetable so that political and financial targets can be achieved. I have built new relationships across the public sector. It has required astute political experience at national and community level.
