Executive Vice President, Fleet Operations

I was in charge of managing almost all aspects of operations for a fleet of 15 large cruise ships including Deck, Engine and Marine Hotel. This included a staff of over 100 people in our corporate office and approximately 14,000 people on the ships. The company’s fleet annually offers more than 500 cruises to 415 ports of call in 98 countries, territories or dependencies carrying in excess of 750,000 guests. Critical areas of fleet operations included safety, environmental protection, security, fuel savings, technology, culinary, guest accommodations, entertainment, crisis management and all other programs that go into operating what is effectively a city at sea.In addition to fleet operations, I was in charge of Port Operations, Purchasing, Newbuilding, Retrofits, Freight & Logistics and management of a private island used by cruise ship passengers. Annual operating budgetary responsibility was in excess of $500,000,000. I was also responsible for providing information to our corporate office and interfacing with the Carnival Corporation Board of Directors and personnel in the Miami corporate office, as required.
