Serving as a strategic leader, my responsibilities in my current position involve implementing best practices, conducting comprehensive research, and providing essential tools to support the Department of Social Development. My primary objective is to cultivate a safe and healthy work environment for employees, emphasizing adherence to legislative compliance.My current focus centers on the design and implementation of a comprehensive safety management system. Simultaneously, I am committed to the ongoing development and maintenance of health and safety programs, tools, and initiatives, with the overarching goal of fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes safety. Beyond conceptualization, I actively offer guidance, technical support, and educational resources to ensure not only operational efficiency but also strict adherence to regulatory compliance standards.I play a key role in handling investigations when it comes to incidents, near misses, and complaints. Together, we're weaving a safety culture that not only meets but exceeds the Department's compliance with safety regulations and standards.Prior to my current role, I accumulated over a decade of experience in the natural gas industry, serving as a Field Inspector with Enbridge Gas New Brunswick/Liberty Utilities. In this capacity, I safely and efficiently identified underground gas plants, oversaw the installation of service and main lines, managed contracting crews during pipeline construction, and monitored cathodic protection systems and induced voltage on steel pipelines.My extensive expertise also extends to meter accreditation, where I successfully established and implemented the meter sampling program in New Brunswick (Liberty Utilities), meeting the requirements under Measurement Canada’s S-S-06 Act. Through this initiative, I achieved cost savings, extended meter life opportunities, ensured compliance with all Measurement Canada rules and regulations, and maintained a precise database.
