In performing this part-time role, complementary to my usual clinical position as a Senior Medical Officer - Rural Generalist working out of Stanthorpe Hospital, I am able to reconnect with operational aspects of one of my personal interest areas of Medical Education.As a past Medical Educator (ME) for QRME before taking on a more active role of a Board Director of QRME (from which I stood down in June 2013 to focus more on family and other interests), I am looking forward to returning to QRME and being more engaged with Medical Students, Resident Medical Officers and Registrars in Training.As an ACRRM (Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine) ME, I will be focussing on rurally oriented training issues of registrars, facilitating access to training resources for trainees, co-ordinating and conducting clinical training visits and assisting with education workshops.
