It was a wonderful return to paid work on Parliament Hill, handling Legislative Affairs for MP Rachel Blaney after 7 years hard at work raising kids. That was a welcome change of pace after being a Member of Parliament it was a new challenge and now both kids are in school. Now it's time to find my next work adventure. Politics is my passion and the thing that I've kept up with while changing diapers and teaching kids about numbers, letters and life.Management – A proven ability to manage multiple offices simultaneously, campaigns and events ranging from major federal, provincial, and municipal election campaigns, issue campaigns, conventions and fundraising projects. This includes the ability to develop and achieve strategic and financial goals and the human resources necessary. As well, experience reporting monthly to an executive committee and stakeholders.Organizational – A very strong set of organizations skills with meticulous attention to detail, the ability to quickly establish critical paths toward the realization of goals, the ability to develop strategies and the tactics to implement them, the ability to work on several projects and/or aspects of a project at one time, the ability to work to deadlines and work under pressure.Communication – Strong written and verbal English and French skills, the ability to write and produce documents intended for public distribution and promotion such as pamphlets, marketing materials, news releases, websites, speeches and technical training manuals and materials.Campaigns – Over 20 years of working on and organizing campaigns, starting in the youth wing of the ONDP, “days of action” protests against Mike Harris and in many capacities since including the 2007 CLC “Better choices” campaign.Human Resources – An extensive history working as a team member both in leadership, participatory and training capacities. Leadership roles required the ability to identify needs, recruit and train personnel both paid and volunteer and to carry out skills assessments, motivate, evaluate and work to resolve interpersonal conflicts.
