Overall Responsible Operator for all Wastewater Treatment Plants (Level II)

• Performs all operational, basic routine and preventative maintenance duties• Communicates using strong oral and written communication skills • Ensures compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, approvals, orders, and guidelines;• Adjusts, inspects and evaluates process performance and equipment in order to optimize efficiency and effectiveness• Operates, monitors, troubleshoots and repairs water/ wastewater treatment plants, well-based distribution and supply systems, pumping stations and reservoirs. Components include; Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), various digital and analog instrumentation and control systems, numerous monitoring, reporting and communications systems, pressure tanks, filtration systems, continuous online analyzers, and related appurtenances, valves, hydrants etc;• Operates, monitors, and repairs wastewater treatment plants with varying degrees of complexity including; Membrane Biological Reactors (MBRs), Ultra-Filtration Membranes (UFMs), and Reverse Osmosis (RO) treatment systems, using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems along with less sophisticated control systems, Landfill Leachate and Sewage Pumping Stations, and manholes, etc;• Works independently to trouble-shoot various types of equipment malfunctions and make necessary repairs• Conducts microbiological and chemical water quality sampling using hand-held and online monitoring equipment, • Collect and submit samples to applicable laboratories for analysis with all applicable required documentation and Chains of Custodies (CoCs);• Carries out process changes required to optimize treatment performance;• Interprets Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), reviews Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)• Participates in the commissioning of new treatment plants, including process optimization, instrumentation and control • Maintains logs and records pertaining to system performance and conditions

• The remote monitoring of the plants via computerised telemetry• Day-to-day coordination of on-site industrial water treatment plants (primarily for desalination).• Maintained daily logs on the plant’s operations• Assisted clients troubleshooting issues by phone, and occasionally attend sites to direct “hands-on” maintenance issues.• Measuring, recording and reporting various chemical and physical parameters of water and wastewater management• Assisted in client training in the use, operation and maintenance of these systems. • Experience documenting, scheduling, and relaying mechanical/electrical maintenance work to local plant operators.• Experience in the hiring and coordination of sub-contractors and client plant operators to perform on-site labour-intensive work orders efficiently and effectively• Cross support other teams with quality assurance, process/ pipework tagging, P&ID analysis, pilot plant operations and new plant commissioning.• Hands-on mechanical work for equipment and manual operation maintenance.Field experience included occasional field assignments to troubleshoot issues with local treatment units. Has been directly involved with, and assisted with, the commissioning of a new saltwater treatment units, located in Cache Creek, BC., Virginia USA as well as a remote mine location near Rankin Inlet Nunavut. For these projects, I assisted in the oversight, troubleshooting and day-to-day realignment and operation of the units.Has acted as an “unofficial” company trainer for new staff on the duties required for remote operations, plant build/ commissioning and troubleshooting.
