As a Regional Manager responsible for 8 locations, I am known for my ability to bring team members together as a collaborative unit and ensure that everyone has a voice. As the new “kid on the block,” I joined the company recently in 2018, and since joining, what I have observed is this: Freebirds truly values peoples’ differences and uniqueness. It’s not just Lip Service. It’s real here. I’ve also observed that leadership’s values are aligned with the people, and this is refreshing. When building a team of over 200 Tribe Members, I like to create a culture that is AUTHENTIC. I also like to know where my team members are coming from. I remember when I was an hourly employee what that felt like: the CEO came to visit, and didn’t give us the time of day. I always told myself that if I ever got to that level, I would always know where I came from, and believe that’s what has made me so successful. I get the best ideas from my team. It’s THEIR idea, not mine. They feel empowered and are contributing to the company. Over the years, I’ve received a lot of thank yous from employees for creating a positive work environment. I need to make sure that my Tribe Members are happy. We need to have good energy in the restaurant to achieve our goals and to provide the best possible guest experience. One of the biggest contributions I have led so far is the implementation of Kaizen initiatives to improve cleanliness, satisfaction, speed of service, and efficiencies. I led these initiatives at an earlier concept, and was able to bring this to Freebirds earlier this year. In 2017, my team was also awarded the Highest Guest Satisfaction and realized a +15% sales increase in 1 year since I joined.
