Having seventeen years of experience teaching multiple ages provides me with a wide breadth of knowledge at my disposal, making me a strong candidate for any position. Becoming a teacher was a natural endeavor for me to pursue given my patience, attention to detail, and creativity. I enjoy working with youth and it brings me personal satisfaction to see my students learn and improve. I have experience teaching multiple grade levels at schools with a variety of demographics. This has given me the confidence to successfully navigate classroom management, to teach to a variety of learning abilities, and to facilitate positive social interactions of students.I believe it is imperative to tailor classroom management to the needs and feedback of my students. Over the years, I have experience identifying needs and creating intervention pathways to serve students with small groups or individualized plans. As a team player, I feel it is critical to collaborate with colleagues on projects, best teaching practices, and grade level planning. Teachers working together improve school climate and raise student achievement. Most recently, the changes brought on by Covid-19 have introduced challenges in our profession. Fortunately, I have been able to adapt quickly and confidently. I am capable and comfortable with technology. I have smoothly transitioned to remote learning and have been able to connect through Zoom conferencing with my students. Whether it is singing them a song on my guitar or reading stories, it has been vital to connect beyond just our lesson plans. School next year may look different than usual but I am prepared to lead through the uncertainty.
