Dan serves as last minute trial counsel for Gordon & Rees throughout the State of California.A UC Davis-educated, Gray Cary-trained, AV-rated attorney, Dan has tried 37 cases before juries, judges, and arbitrators, obtaining six-and-seven-figure verdicts and judgments and successfully defending clients against six-and-seven-figure claims. In addition to his time as a trial lawyer, Dan has served as general counsel for a software company and a real estate investment company.Dan received his B.A. in Politics & Government from the University of Puget Sound, where he was awarded the Charles T. Battin Trophy for Demonstrated Success in Politics. He received his J.D. from King Hall School of Law, University of California, Davis. At King Hall, Dan served as Senior Notes and Comments Editor of the U.C. Davis Law Review, receiving the Patrick Hopkins Memorial Award for Outstanding Law Review Writer.Dan is a former Vice-President and Director of the San Diego County Bar Association, a certified member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and the recipient of the 2002 Silver-Tongue Award. He has repeatedly been named one of the San Diego Daily Transcript’s Top Attorneys (Real Estate Litigation, Corporate Litigation, & Personal Injury) and one of the Top Lawyers in San Diego by San Diego Magazine.Dan has a passion for fitness, particularly weightlifting and CrossFit, and he studied exercise science at UCSD while on a sabbatical from law. He coached Little League and spends a lot of time with his 12 year-old son.
