The Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) is an international, multi-award-winning, classroom-basedprogram that engages secondary school students in understanding and standing up for social issues,charitable engagement and philanthropic initiatives within in their communities. Over 350 secondaryschools participate globally, in Canada, USA, and the UK. Each year, at each participating school, students with the most compelling culminating presentation about a local charity receive a $5,000 grant for their charity, funded by YPI’s generous supporters in each country.

• Execute the vision for the Elam Davies Social Service Center by building relationships with and providing services for men, women and families who are in need of housing, food, clothing, health education and support for their life’s journey to greater stability. • Implement the strategic goals and program objectives for the Social Service Center, developed with the Chicago Lights Board and the Executive Director.• Extend hospitality to guests, ensuring that staff and volunteers understand our emphasis on human dignity as well as reasonable boundaries. • Oversee the development and management of foodservice programs, including Sunday Night Supper, bag lunch and Food Pantry distributions. Personally provide a presence with guests and volunteers on a periodic basis.• Serve as supervisor for the Associate Program Manager, Operations Manager and Guests Services Manager, designing a staff plan that fulfills the mission, goals and objective of the organization and the program and meet with the team regularly to ensure execution of objectives.

-Work as part of a team that works toward alleviating hunger and homelessness and advancing health and wellness for guests all over the Chicago land area.-Responsible for inventory, ordering, and organizing the food pantry.-Conduct housing seminars to guests, and follow up with individual case management-Responsible for overseeing the development and progress of two grant projects geared toward community collaboration, hunger, and health and nutrition.-Provide weekly supervision to independent case manager from the Community Collaboration Grant Project.-Maintain consistent relationships with partnering and referral agencies.-Manage and input daily program statistics into monthly and annual reports.-Assist in daily direct services with guests as well as individualized case management.

-Operated within all system databases-Admin, Intra, Penson, and Laserfiche.-Processed new client accounts through system databases.-Transcribed new client account information into Excel spreadsheets for future records.-Verified all new clients have completed required paperwork to open a new account.-Transcribed client voicemails and assist in special projects.

-Collaborated with staff and guests to empower homeless men and women to make life changes through the continuum of five programs.-Co-lead weekly Community Engagement Program - Provided individuals experiencing homelessness access to basic needs services such as showers, laundry, hot breakfast, clothing closet, phone usage, and food pantry. The program also allowed access to intake assessments for potential new guests, case management services, and referral sources.-Completed a thorough program evaluation of the Community Engagement Program -Created curriculum and taught daily living skills classes for guests: Time Management, Anger Management, Decision Making, and Conflict Resolution.-Completed six grant proposals in the range of $5000-$10,000-Created grievance policy for guests and staff.

-Created a stress management program for Parole Agents.-Trained facilitators and taught the stress management curriculum for Parole Agents.-Participated in individual assessment and group therapy sessions for sex offenders.-Gained a greater understanding of the systemic barriers preventing sex offenders from reentering
