Strategic oversight of WaterAid's global advocacy campaigns on health and climate change, line managing the leads for each campaign, leading WaterAid's Advocacy Community of Practice and co-chairing the Advocacy Steering Group. Working with our country teams across the world to strengthen advocacy capacity and ensure joined-up influencing across national, regional and international levels. I led the process of global consultation and decision-making on our future global advocacy priorities.

I co-led the Global Campaigns & Advocacy Team during a period of team restructure. I was also overall global lead for WaterAid's advocacy in response to COVID-19, calling on governments and donors to invest in hygiene, water and sanitation as a crucial first line of defence that is lacking for billions of people and millions of frontline health workers globally. Additional line management of roles focused on UN and EU advocacy.

SEP is a small, volunteer-based non-profit changing the lives of children with disabilities from Kenya’s poorest communities. My goal during this VSO placement was to transform SEP into a fully functioning, professional organisation with a lasting strategy, structure and staff. My work included:- Strategic planning- Facilitation- Developing organisational policies- Funding proposals- Fundraising and publicity materials

Brought in at a challenging time to project-manage the cross-organisation ‘Lost & Found’ campaign, which successfully engaged a new generation of supporters. I championed integrated communications at RNIB.

I provided campaigning leadership to the OutCry! campaign to end immigration detention of children, which saw considerable success, including a commitment from the Government to end child detention.

I managed a team responsible for road safety communications campaigns targeted towards children, teenagers, parents and teachers.

Promoted quickly to Senior Campaigns Officer in May 2007, during my time at The Electoral Commission I was responsible for a wide range of communications projects designed to encourage people to register and vote in elections.

In this role I collaborated on several cross-government communications strategies (eg. counter-terrorism); provided the secretariat to a formal cross-government committee and briefed senior officials; and I worked within emergency response during the 2005 London bombings and other emergencies.
