o I began my career in 1999 at TrueNorth Steel as the CFO, where I was primarily responsible for the overall leadership and management of the finance and administration, information technology and human resources departments. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, I worked closely with the president and business unit leadership to develop and execute strategies to secure TrueNorth Steel’s long-term success in the operation and sales of our fabricated steel products. In 2005, I was promoted to TrueNorth Steel president, which included FTC Transport, Minnkota Windows and Rommesmo Companies. During my time as president, TrueNorth has grown substantially. Our team nearly tripled, from 185 employees to 545, and revenue did as well — from $43 million to a peak of $153 million. During that time, I also oversaw the acquisitions of three major steel fabrication companies: Dakota Steel, Rapid City, South Dakota — structural steel and miscellaneous metals facility acquired in 2007 Precision Stair and Steel, Mandan, North Dakota — miscellaneous metals facility acquired in 2008 Roscoe Steel & Culvert, Billings and Missoula, Montana, and Casper, Wyoming — structural steel, steel bridge, and corrugated metal pipe facility acquired in 2011Like any company president, I wear many hats. From analyzing the business’s financial viability to training employees on leadership development, I am involved in nearly every aspect of the company’s day-to-day operations. This provides me with the unique and comprehensive insight to deliver sound, strategic leadership for TrueNorth Steel.

Past President

After becoming a certified public accountant in 1989, I accepted a position as an audit in-charge at Eide Bailly, a CPA and business advisory firm headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota. Working with construction and manufacturing clients of the century-old firm helped me to learn the dynamics of those industries as I worked on auditing, business consulting and managing the internal and external technology departments for the firm. I served various roles with firm and became a partner in 1998. I was a member of the integration team for the merger of the firms Eide Helmeke and Charles Bailly in 1998. The firm as a whole provides services in audit and assurance, tax and accounting, cyber security, business outsourcing, risk advisory, technology consulting, transaction and wealth management.

I began my career as an audit associate at McGladrey & Pullen, a national CPA and business advisory firm in Minneapolis, MN. I performed audits on private companies primarily in the manufacturing industry.
