Most recently, I’ve been leading a Systems team in the IT Department, spanning multiple offices and data centers. My current position also includes managing multiple projects simultaneously—organizing, prioritizing, and delegating assignments to 12 team members.My impact thus far has included steadily building out our team with collaborative members that are the right technical and cultural fit. We also delivered on two major projects: a new phone system and a fraud detection system using AI (a new flagship product for our customers). In addition to this, we completed key cloud-based projects—reducing open projects and transitioning red-status projects to free up resources to take on more new projects.

In this role, I provided leadership for EOC Engineers in analysis maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all network, VMWare, and server infrastructure. This also included ensuring LAN and WAN network performance met company and user satisfaction. As a result, we, delivered on key short-term objectives. Highlights included transitioning company from quarterly to monthly patching cycle in just 3 months to meet audit requirements. Also, I brought outsourced backup systems in house by creating a team, comprised of offshore and onshore resources.

Due to solid job performance, I was promoted to lead the design, development, and implementation of robust infrastructure with long-term sustainability and low cost of ownership. This included building and guiding teams of 9 direct and 90 indirect reports across multiple departments that enabled mission-critical business operations. Successes included turning around underperforming operations by introducing emerging technologies, integrating applications, and bolstering data security. As a result, we met the complex enterprise needs of networks, voice/data communication, transaction processing, database administration, helpdesk, and data management.In addition to this, I planned and orchestrated technology implementation in a $250M state-of-the-art Platinum LEED Certified building with a data center. This entailed consolidating 3 facilities into 1 corporate headquarters. I identified the need for a new high-tech data center to cover disaster recovery services and implemented infrastructure to provide high availability services. Also I implemented strategy of Citrix virtual application deployment over a 3-year period.

Initially, I was hired to build the company’s first WAN. Upon completion, I was put in charge of telecommunications infrastructure, LAN/WAN, phone systems, and Internet/Intranet services for 12 subsidiaries.Accomplishments during this time included minimizing downtime by transforming unreliable data infrastructure into a high-performance network. I also negotiated the purchase of a new front end processor (FEP) with EDS for mainframe connectivity. As well, we streamlined operations by consolidating 2 additional FEPs into 1 new unit.

During this time, I developed and administered a LAN/WAN in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa for a division of Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Consequently, we drove IT transformations and resulting improvements.

Early in my career, I provided strategic leadership for county’s IT department. This included managing staff and budgets, guaranteeing utmost efficient technological operations for all county departments.
