Dan works with a wide range of clients from early stage startups to global enterprise organizations. Starting as a mobile developer in NYC, he gained valuable insight into the startup world while honing his skills during the "app boom" of the mid-2010s. Along the way, he cultivated more skills such as web development, cloud infrastructure and DevOps.In 2019, Dan moved to Washington DC for his first enterprise assignment at the Washington Post. Assigned to the Arc XP division, Dan navigated challenges at enterprise scale and sophistication. Working with a world class team at the Post, Dan drew strongly from their process, experience and approach which heavily influences his workflow to this day.That same year Dan worked with the UChicago Impact program. Impact provides public schools across the nation online assessment tools to track student progress. Dan oversaw UI development for specific areas of the platform and managed an authentication integration for a large service provider that aggregates school data nationwide. Dan continues to work with UChicago across a variety of grant-funded projects.In 2021, Dan began work with FIRST Agency as a developer for an internal data tracking, analytics & reporting platform. Used by FIRST's clients such as McKinsey, Carlyle Group, and Bank of America, the system aggregates internal data in order to generate reports and predictive analysis for optimizing resource allocation. By Q4 2022, Dan fully took over the project and led a migration from an outdated implementation to a more modern architecture allowing for greater flexibility and scalability. As the technical lead, Dan managed developers across several skillsets while keeping stakeholders abreast of progress, bottlenecks, and budget status. Dan still oversees the platform and considers it one of the pivotal projects of his career.Missing the startup "scene", Dan met informally with founders in the DC area throughout 2022. He evaluated developers for hire, reviewed roadmaps, budgets, and provided technical insight. This led to the creation of Vertex Labs, a DC-based consultancy for startups and enterprise clients. Through Vertex, Dan consults many startups primarily as a technical advisor but in certain cases, as a technical lead for development. Dan has guided startups from pre-seed through series A, helped secure funding both angel & institutional, hired many developers and in two cases, CTO's, and helped one startup gain entry to the prestigious TechStars program.In his spare time, Dan finds new and creative ways to lose at fantasy sports.
