• Build, test and troubleshoot prototype hardware for support of product development.
• Design wiring diagrams and test prototype/preproduction wiring harnesses and cables.
• Test and debug prototype/preproduction systems to verify test and assembly procedures.
• Analyze statistical, and test data and prepare technical reports.
• Generate engineering documentation for production procedures.
• Parts search and procurement required for prototype development and evaluation.

• Resolve difficult manufacturing problems involving laser rangefinders and 3D Imaging Systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair ECL, CMOS and TTL circuit boards that are not repairable by production technicians and specialists.
• Write technical training manuals for a large variety of systems and processes.
• Train international service depot personnel and customers on operation and servicing of production, prototype and proof-of-concept equipment.
• Qualify/Characterize components and sub-assemblies from new suppliers\batches before entering production cycle.
• Work on R&D projects when time permits.

• Over see the production group responsible for ILRIS laser scanners.
• Delegate responsibilities to a group of Technicians in the testing and assembling of electronics, optics and mechanical components and ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and in accordance to Optech Quality.
• Review all test completed by Technicians.

• Responsible for the timely repair of customers laser range finders and multi axis mechanical scanning systems. (CMS, Sentinel/Watchman and Geophysical Altimeter)
• Solve a variety of problems involving ECL, CMOS and TTL circuit boards, and mechanical\optical assemblies, components and cabling.
• Coordinate the assembly/disassembly of customer systems and document a full report of all material, time and conclusions for system failure.
• Assist International service depot personnel with repair of customer units.
• Train new and existing repair personnel on repairing Optech products.

• Repair and troubleshoot customer equipment in a timely manner.
• Repair PC boards, or replace when more cost effective.
• Report directly to the Repair and Services Technical Coordinator all findings during the repairing of customer systems.

• Assemble and test laser based Altimeters, and Mining scanners.
• Repair of defective PC boards and power supplies. (DAC, High Speed Counters and Micro controllers).

• Assemble and test process control laser rangefinders.
• Solder surface mount and through hole circuit boards.
• Test and assembly of high voltage laser power supplies.
• Conduct various production tests and report to Production Coordinator. (Calibration, Temperature and Alignment).
