Engineer in charge of Kent State University's School of Journalism and Mass Communication.In this role, I am the sole engineer responsible for all technological aspects of the following areas:-HD Television studio, Control Room, TOC-Radio Air and Production studios-3,000+ items in the JMC Student Resource Lab (equipment checkout)-Editing labs-A/V and special eventsI have been fortunate to have been provided the opportunity to support and implement quality, broadcast-grade systems within our school:-Grass Valley 5-ME K-Frame system w/ 3-stripe Korona panel, KSP (replaced GV Kayak.)-Pesa Cheetah and DRS audio routing systems.-Ross XPression 2-channel system (replaced Chyron LEX2 system).-Grass Valley K2 3G servers (replaced K2 Classic SAN).-RTS ADAM CS intercom/IFB.-Lectrosonics wireless mics and IFB.-LiveU Bonded Cellular system.-4 JVC studio chains, plus Sony PTZ cameras for beauty shots. Panasonic and JVC ENG cameras.-Axia (Telos Alliance) IQ console w/ QOR. 32 engine, XNodes. (Replaced Wheatstone console.)-Associated Press ENPS software, Adobe Creative Cloud suite.-AutoCue Teleprompter system (linked to ENPS); CueScript teleprompters, Vinten peds.-Mackie and Presonus audio consoles (32 and 48 channels).-Over 3,000 pieces of equipment in the Student Resource Lab.I also have significant experience engineering Kent State's production truck. Much of the equipment is the same, but additional pieces include the Dyno replay system, Grass Valley cameras, Daltech announce boxes.I've been fortunate to with and for amazing people at JMC, and I'm proud of the work we do. Our television studio is among the busiest college studios in the country, hosting 17 shows per week for student media outlet TV2 (200+ members) in addition to classes. Black Squirrel Radio has live DJs in the air studio 16 hours per day. Our SRL processes approximately 4,500 checkouts per year, totaling over 33 years in duration, and over 50,000 items are checked out per year.

Work with the School of Journalism & Mass Communications-Responsible for all technology and equipment in $2.5 million high-definition broadcast television studio, control room and master control facility.-Research, design, install and maintain complex broadcast equipment and workflows for the School of Journalism & Mass Communication, and for TV2, the student-run television station.-Responsible for additional JMC facilities, including a radio station (internet stream), focus group room, and equipment checkout facility's fleet of equipment.-Manage technology aspects of complex projects involving the building's broadcast infrastructure, including conferences and seminars.-Serve on Technology Committee for the School of Journalism & Mass Communication and make technology recommendations for the school.----Work with TeleProductions Department-One of a team of four engineers, providing service to the university and outside clients.-Travel as part of engineering team with satellite production & uplink truck. Provide on-site engineering support for truck productions.-Support department's internal full-service production team, including support of athletics video board operations.

Part of Classroom Technology group. Assisted with A/V in high-end classrooms for business school. Web-casted video content for distance learning. Assisted with special events.

Assisted in setup and operation of 32-foot HD Production / Uplink truck at events ranging from 1-camera interviews for ESPN to the 2013 Super Bowl production for the BBC.

Worked in standard-definition, NTSC studio. Set up studio for shows. White balanced and painted studio cameras. Patched and routed video and audio signals according to show's requirements. Set up and calibrated tape decks and monitors. Responsible for a wide variety of video standards conversions. Provided emergency technical assistance to KSU faculty and staff as needed for both software and hardware issues.

Dyno operator for events ranging from single-camera coverage (records, package playback, etc.) to tier one ESPN productions.
