Built the back office accounting and operations from scratch. Hired and trained over 30 accountants and operational personnel. My teams closed the books of over 70 hedge funds monthly, did foreign exchange rolls, accepted subscriptions and paid redemptions, calculated estimated and final NAVs, reviewed pricing of all types of financial products including: equities, fixed income, real estate, options and various other illiquid securities. Worked closely with IT department to develop internal systems to make our daily lives easier. Worked closely with Investor Relations to discuss with investors and potential investor questions about our products. Helped structure alternative financial products, including collateralized financial obligation and levered notes. Hired and worked closely with the tax group. Interviewed, negotiated contracts and hired various 3rd party entities like Administrators, Custodians, Auditors, Tax Counsel, Foreign Exchange providers, broker dealers and the like.Other parts of my job entailed supervising the IT department, a few real estate build outs, compensation committee, shareholder in firm. Formed 401k for employees and offshore deferral program for shareholders.
