Tendering for new works on large & small inaccessible structures. This includes structural inspection, fabric maintenance, installation and repair to high rise buildings, bridges and the like, often using rope access, specialist cradles, scaffold towers and MEWPS as the primary means of reaching the work site.I work to tight deadlines and liaise with clients and suppliers on a daily basis to create good working relationships within the industry. I thoroughly enjoy working as an estimator, various aspects of the job role intrigue me, pricing from first principles, working to tight deadlines, the mechanics of how a project comes to be, the sense of achievement when securing a project and following the project through to completion. As of October 2017 I am now also managing projects through to completion. This involves manifesting site kit, labour management, Issuing RAMS and where applicable onsite problem solving.

Junior Estimator for Alusec UK Ltd working within an established team.Specialize in supplying prices for installing windows, doors, shop front and curtain walling all over the UK.

In this role as Test and Inspection Engineer, I carried out annual testing and inspections on fall protection equipment. This was done by the means of physically pull testing the equipment, torque testing and general observation. I also inspected and tagged personal protective equipment (harnesses and lanyards) and have spent a small amount of time on the installation side of things, this involved travelling all over the UK working on some outstanding buildings. As part of my job role I am also expected to problem solve on the go as any failed equipment requires a remedial take off sheet to be filled in with great detail, this includes taking measurements and in some cases planning a new fall protection package for our clients.

I undertook general site duties working alongside various skilled operatives assisting in various jobs these include bricklaying, fencing, soffit, fascia and guttering, pointing, block paving amongst others. The reason for leaving was due to lack of work.

I started working at Chesterfield Property Services Ltd as a site operative which involved working on site at MOD bases replacing cast water mains with MDPE pipe. I did this for roughly three months and then carried on to try and progress up the company ladder and I became an administration and finance clerk within the office undertaking general administration tasks including working on a computer using excel and various other computer programmes as well as dealing with health & safety legislation, wages and arranging work schedules for the other employees. I did this up until July 2012, when I was promoted to a management position. Whilst in this role I undertook many tasks these included many of which from my previous role as well as other duties which included estimating/quantity surveying, cost forecasting, buying, a small amount of P.A.Y.E, project management and Health & Safety. I then in December 2012 started working as a site operative for the company above (sister company), this was due to unforeseen circumstances within the company.
