Lead in-house software development engineer of PLC/HMI software and network applications. Design architectures, generate code, support field engineers.

Responsible for managing and scheduling software department. Design architectures of systems, review code, provide process knowledge to staff, with key metrics being safety, reusability, and within time and budget. Became a major field resource to resolve issues with staffing shortfalls. Performed minimal IT responsibilities, and began development of in-house quote tracking and financial POC system. Troubleshooting of systems and development of standards.

Supervision, coordination and optimization of three departments: Software Development, Product Development, and Information Technology. Direct management and field support to technicians and sales/marketing staff. Direct customer interfacing for problems involving networks, databases, logic controls and inter-system integration and communication (embedded and traditional software). Assumed responsibility for management and streamlining of IT infrastructure and the development of automation systems and procedures.

Range of responsibility included: day-to-day operations, customer service, sales/marketing support, project management, QC/QA, technical staff supervision (up to 5 at one point- 4 engineers, one CAD operator), project design and implementation, sales proposal reviews, cost estimation, allocation of resources, architecture of systems as well as financial related duties (even cash flow management).Served as creative and technical lead on in-house developed software projects. Projects consisted of automation systems using PLCs and barcode systems employing RF terminal devices and networks. Utilized database and Microsoft Visual Studio tools (SQL, C++, VB, and VBA).

Challenged to provide R&D, technical support, teaching support, and overall problem solving to various business units in the field of industrial automation, computer control and instrumentation. Company made industrial water treatment equipment mostly used in power plants and refineries worldwide.Supervised/directed field support staff and operating manuals departments. Managed projects consisting of integration of PLC, WonderWare, MS Excel, WinHelp, and custom (C-based components).
