We changed the titles of the field sales and apps team. We just went from FAEs to ESEs.

Technical lead on projects for metering applications and peripherals. Designed microprocessor based metering platforms (hardware) and wrote firmware for the same. Managed multi-disciplined teams to design products from concept to manufacturing.

I taught ET-361, Introduction to Electronics in the evenings. It was a great experience and the students were very receptive. Their high marks and praise (including requests for me to teach more classes) in their course review sheets made me especially proud and sad when I had to give it up because of increasing hours and responsibility at Schneider.

This was the end of my 15 year career in defense. I started in '83 as a R&D technician at General Dynamics in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. Became an engineer in '85 while pursuing degree at Cal Poly part time. Missile business was sold to Hughes in '93 and moved to Tucson in '94. Resold to Raytheon in '98. Mostly worked on hardware and software teams for IR.

The Hughes Era in my 15 years in defense starting at General Dynamics in 1983 and ending when Raytheon bought Hughes in 1998.

The beginning of my career in defense. Started as an R&D technician while attending Cal Poly for my BSEE. Continued on as an engineer through two acquisitions over the next 15 years.
