Profile bio

About Dan Martyr

I am fortunate in that I love what I do for a living - my progression into Landscape Architecture made sense of all my interests, experience and abilities. My love of the natural environment saw me start my working life in horticulture, but my passion for design, instinct for problem solving, and fascination with the built world inspired me to pursue Landscape Architecture as a profession. In my career to date I have been involved in designing and delivering a wide variety, scope and scale of projects. Including work for private clients as well as town and city councils, with designs for the public realm as well as landscape visual impact assessments and town centre master planning.I bring creativity, passion and inventiveness coupled with the essential technical, managerial and business expertise. I enjoy meeting people and understand the importance of engaging with clients to truly understand their needs and wants – managing their expectations communicatively and collaboratively throughout the lifetime of a project. I am skilled in identifying and building business opportunities through a natural desire to listen to people, understand their business, and identify where my knowledge (and that of the team) can work to the client's advantage. Bringing positive outcomes for all.

Listed skills include Autocad, Adobe Creative Suite, Tree Planting, Illustrator, and 17 others.

I worked on the LVIA for HS2, which included site work, contributing to report appendices, and co-ordination of photography. Other main areas of work included stage F of Phase Two of the new BCU city campus where I ensured that contractors had the information they needed, and made necessary design changes following design team meetings, and managing the landscape maintenance of 15 Coal Authority sites in England and Wales.
