My name is Dan, and I am currently working as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator for a main contractor in Oxford.My main roles presently consist of:-Formulating cost estimates for a variety of building projects ranging from repair and maintenance to full internal/external refurbishments of domestic properties and college accommodation as well as restoration of listed buildings in and around oxford city centre.-Creating subcontract and supplier enquiries for tendered projects.-Carrying out full range of Quantity Surveying and contrast administration duties on projects in which we have successfully tendered/negotiated, such as sub contractor procurement to financial control including monthly valuations and cost value reconciliations, as well as contract variation procedures.-Buying: searching and obtaining best price quotations for materials, organising deliveries to sites and taking off quantities from site and drawings.-Provide advice and reports for cost management and budgets for building works.-Work closely with Surveyors, Project Managers and external consultants to develop cost estimates, specifications and designs to suit the clients requirements.-Supply chain management.-Formulate 3D design proposals on sketch up for clients to give a clearer insight into allowances of works within submitted cost estimates.Outside of work, I enjoy playing and watching all sports particularly football, golf, and Martial Arts (MMA).
