Led the team that developed numerous sequencing and templating improvements for the Ion Torrent Sequencing platform. This includes inventing, developing, and productizing the Hi-Q Sequencing kits.

The ambitious goal of my project was reconstitution of the entire yeast Mismatch Repair pathway. These studies required development and modification of prokaryotic and eukaryotic expression/purification protocols for numerous enzymes and multi-subunit complexes, identification of novel target proteins by amino acid conservation within catalytic motifs, and assay development for screening of target proteins. A major component of this work involves extensive biochemical characterization of all individual components and higher order complexes. In addition to my research project, I was also responsible for mentoring newly appointed students, technicians, and postdocs.
