I entered the insurance industry in 1994, initially hired as an account manager for QualMed Health Plan, a regional HMO. Through my three and a half years with QualMed I was promoted first to an account executive and then to a sales executive. In 1997 I was hired by Jones & Mitchell to manage the benefits department while growing my own book of benefits clients. In 2007 Jones & Mitchell was purchased by Western States Insurance who then merged with Payne Financial in 2013 to form PayneWest Insurance. Through it all I grew as an employee benefits producer serving an ever growing book of clients, specializing in strategic planning and claims analysis. In 2005 I completed my Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation through World at Work. I’ve been actively involved in leadership within the National Association of Health Underwriters serving as local chapter president in 2000-2001, state president in 2005-2006 and National Region 8 HUPAC Chair in 2012-2013. I served on the Board for Inland Pacific Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors from 2003-2005 and his church board from 1997-2020. I was a 2010 recipient of the Washington Association of School Administrators Certificate of Merit Award for volunteerism and the 2014 Washington Association of Health Underwriters Barry Thoma Award for industry excellence, leadership and service. Over my career I served on producer advisory councils for Regence, Premera, Delta Dental and attended the national United Healthcare Echelon Conference and the Group Health Producer Round Table.
