Projects include: ODOT 180408 WOO-64 $11 million I75/SR64 Major Reconstruction in Bowling Green, OH. Work included replacing existing bridge deck, adding a multi-use path, replacing ramp intersection signals with roundabouts, sanitary sewers and sanitary pump station; ODOT 150056 ERI-250 $15 million SR250 Roadway Upgrade in Sandusky, OH. Work included upgrading signals and signs, adding turn lanes, and sidewalk.

Northwest, Ohio

Duties: Administration and satisfactory completion of assigned construction projects; Address issues as they arise to keep the projects moving forward; Resolve disputes with goal of having no claims; Managed 4 project engineers, 2 project managers, 5 project inspectors, and 1 clerk; Assign duties based on need and qualifications; Authorize and monitor overtime; Address training and safety needs; Generate yearly district wide construction work plan with other area engineers; Constructability reviews during the design phase; Conduct final inspection of other area engineers’ projects; Specification reviews and modifications. Projects include: ODOT 080152, 090201, 098015, US-24 $167 million 22 mile stretch of new four lane divided highway in Henry and Lucas counties. Work included soil foundation evaluation and treatment, rock blasting, MSE walls, cement stabilized subgrade, slip-formed concrete pavement; diamond grinding, temporary and permanent erosion control; $58 million bridge rehabilitation of the Anthony Wayne Bridge (Suspension Bridge). Work included removal of riveted connections and replacement of deteriorated plate girder and steel beams with bolted connections, and replacement of the concrete deck with lightweight concrete in a balanced phasing sequence; ODOT 14300 HAN/WOO-75 $66 million 8 mile major rehabilitation of I-75 from Findlay to North Baltimore. Project was design build and included adding a third lane in each direction; $5 million stone arch culvert rehabilitation at 8 locations near Napoleon, OH. Stone arches were aqueducts built in the 1840’s for the Miami and Erie Canal. Work included removing and resetting and/or replacing limestone block using dry construction methods.

Toledo, Ohio

Project: ODOT 010493 LUC-280 $243 million cable stayed segmental bridge over the Maumee River in Toledo eventually known as the Veterans Glass City Skyway. Work included drilled shaft installation using mini-sid and cross sonic logging, mass concrete, span by span precast segmental box construction, unidirectional cantilever precast segmental box construction, stay cable installation, post tensioning and grouting, diamond grinding, LED lighting, glass installation, and mechanical work.Duties: Resident Engineer for the project management team which included FIGG, HNTB, Parsons Brinckerhoff and ODOT; Managed up to 9 project engineers, 2 project managers, 22 project inspectors, 8 surveyors, and 1 clerk; Contract administration; Resolve field issues promptly and/or consult with designers; Partner and resolve disputes; Analyze delays; Manage review of submittals, work procedures, RFI’s, and CPM schedule; Processed over 25,000 documents using indexed electronic file structure; Conducted weekly progress and schedule meetings; Assigned work duties to the project management team and tracked progress;

Duties: Project management of assigned construction contracts. Ensure reasonable conformance to the plans and specifications; Interpretation of plans and designer intent; Ensure proper materials are being incorporated into the project; Review of construction inspection and testing reports; Process change orders and contractor payments; Project finalization and closeout; Supervise employee work performance; Ensure work rules are followed; Conduct performance evaluations; Liaison between the owner, contractor, project personnel, local officials, utility companies and property owners; Respond to inquiries and complaints; Structural rehabilitation design during winter season.Projects include: $17 million pavement and bridge rehabilitation on I75 near the Toledo Jeep Plant. Work included asphalt resurfacing and re-decking of a 5 unit bridge with variable width and superelevations; $1.6 million timber covered structure in Williams County with glued laminated timber deck and stringers; $100k culvert replacement on SR34 in Williams County. Work included placement of “Elastizell” engineered fill over peat deposits in order to support the weight of the culvert and roadway; $800k new bridge construction near Grand Rapids over an abandoned section of the Miami & Erie Canal. Work included placement of a temporary runaround, excavation of abandoned canal, and construction of a towpath and bridge over restored canal.
