There is an increasing demand for new leaders with proven experience. I’m process-driven and enjoy leading teams to discover root causes of challenges, then collectively look for solutions to improve them. While capable of putting out fires, I’d rather not. I tend to look for ways to avoid them being created in the first place. It’s a must if you want to find success on any construction project, or in any organization, and build a team that will trust you.I have taken on some of the toughest assignments in this industry including the $3 billion Tappan Zee Bridge project, the $2 billion Purple Line project, and was part of the transition team that strategically led the unprecedented efforts to successfully terminate the Purple Line design-build contract. I’ve implemented strategies resulting in savings of over $3M in one year.For over 20 years, I have earned my way through my career without being handed anything. This is no different than my life growing up, with a father who instilled the value of hard work and discipline, and to always do what you say you will do. Earning the respect of clients, contractors and suppliers, my peers and supervisors, and then my employees once I began managing teams (both professional staff and field construction crews), is something I’ve always strived for. My unique and diverse experience with both small contractors as well as one of the largest, covers all aspects of execution on bid-build, design-build, and P3 projects. This includes estimating, to performing inspection, field survey, tracking quantities, submittals and RFIs, managing my own crews/superintendents, responsibility for budgets and cost forecasting, and successfully managing small/diverse business programs and procurement teams on multiple megaprojects. This background has allowed me the ability to competently assist technical/construction personnel as well as negotiate directly with attorneys for some of the largest contractors in this industry.
