As a Laboratory Technician at Avantor, I contribute to the quality and efficiency of the chemical and biological testing services that support various industries, such as pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and environmental. I perform analytical tests, calibrate equipment, maintain records, and adhere to safety standards. I have developed skills in Microsoft Excel, pH meter, and email communication, as well as a keen attention to detail and accuracy.My interest in animal care and conservation stems from my education and previous work experience. I hold a BSc in Animal Biology from Nottingham Trent University, where I learned about genetic models, animal physiology, ecology, and behaviour. I also completed an online course on Genetic Models for Animal Breeding from Wageningen University & Research, which enhanced my knowledge of animal genetics and breeding strategies. Before joining Avantor, I worked as a Pet Care Associate at Pets at Home for over three years, where I cared for a variety of animals, including small animals and tropical fish, and provided customer service and advice. I have a passion for wildlife and the natural world, and a strong knowledge of UK birds, acquired from thousands of hours in the field.
