ITC is the largest independent electricity transmission company in the U.S. As Director of Real Estate, responsible for all land acquisition and management of real property; manage Real Estate staff across the system; and oversee multiple contractor relationships. ITC operates in eight Midwestern states.

Provided executive project management and leadership to guide projects and clients from project concept, through permit approvals and construction to completion. Success in generating revenue and new business in a highly competitive marketplace. Won the 2009 Environmental Impact Award for environmentally sensitive, complex site development project.

Directed all aspects of this entrepreneurial firm including marketing, business development, profit/loss responsibility and people management. Consulted with clients to assess the suitability of development sites, conceptual layouts and optimal design configurations to maximize return on investment while minimizing the environmental impact. Drew upon Environmental Design and Policy education to develop new business in the emerging "green" building industry.After a successful early career managing large clients and projects in the communications industry, returned to Michigan to assume the leadership of this 40-year-old family business. Steadily increased firm revenues and profitability, ultimately positioning the firm for sale to Washtenaw Engineering Company.

Managed complex project plans, client relationships and agency staff to implement multi-million dollar marketing and communications / advertising campaigns. Directed national and regional programs for Nissan, Cadillac, Saab, Hyundai and Ford while working for international advertising agencies, including Chiat/Day/Mojo; Backer Spielvogel Bates; and J. Walter Thompson.
