Dan’s extensive and diverse business experience reveals a track record of success. His service on numerous organizational boards throughout the southwest region demonstrates commitment to improving communities through applied, big-picture perspective. He has dedicated much time and effort on the Colorado DOW’s Big Game Allocation Program (BGLAP), the Colorado Wildlife Federation, the Colorado Outfitters Association, and Sportsmen for Wildlife Conservation, Hinsdale County School Board, and the Hinsdale County Planning Commission to the Lake Fork Valley Conservancy. His commitment to a positive, common sense approach and outlook on both wildlife and domestic issues has brought forth progressive, positive and life-altering changes.

Dan has lived, worked & raised his family in Southwestern Colorado for the past 36 years. Dan started his first business at the age of 16 and has gone on to build several very successful businesses. Dan and family, owned and operated a popular lake front resort on Colorado’second largest natural lake, built and owned a very successful outfitting business in Alaska, Colorado & Montana for 18 years and realized his passion for being a politically active wildlife advocate and conservationist. Dan started his real estate interests 14 years ago with a family development and property management business. Dan was asked to join Kelli Murphy as a broker associate in 2004, to form Team Murphy Realty LLC, and is by his words “one of the best things to happen in my life”. While Dan feels as at home nestled in a sleeping bag on a glacier fed river of Alaska to the 13,000 ft basins of Colorado, or flats fishing in the Laguna Madre, he also has developed a strong business sense of purchasing and selling real estate. If you ask Dan to date his best accomplishment, his answer would be being husband and father, to his wife Michelle and two great kids, Jake and Kyleen.
