Part of the team that developed a system to manage and track all mental health services provided to inmates at 33 state prisons. The system supports several interfaces to external systems and allows staff members at all prisons to enter, report, and analyze mental health services against the court-ordered compliance rules. The system schedules, tracks and reports on over 20,000 mental health encounters per day.

Responsible for Integration Layer technologies within Oracle's Healthcare Applications vertical market. Prototyped and evaluated a multi-tiered architecture using Java and Visigenic's VisiBroker for Java. Recruited key members of development staff. Evaluated vendor technologies for possible strategic partnerships.

Managed a team of 8 engineers responsible for the development of all WiSE server applications, including the WiSE Interface Engine, Notification Server, Application Server 3-tiered architecture, Web and Print/Fax Server products used to support the WISE-MED wireless point of care healthcare application. Management responsibilities include hiring, salary negotiations, performance evaluations and product management. Designed and developed core product components. Designed and implemented the WiSE Interface Engine, a product used to exchange data with other healthcare system vendor applications. Used C++, Rogue Wave, POSIX threads, shared libraries, TCP/IP, parsing theory and Sybase to develop product. Runs on both UNIX and NT platforms. Interacted with client base for support and interface negotiations. Contributed to the design of the WiSE distributed object model.

Designed key components of the next generation UNIX-based communication gateway. Implemented an extremely flexible configuration language, using UNIX compiler tools, for parsing and manipulating data trees in shared memory for the purpose of exchanging healthcare information between Bell Atlantic applications. Technical lead for development of Admission/Discharge/Transfer Census Server product. Ported core classes to Windows for development of a new front end to the Clinical Patient Repository product. Designed and implemented an object cache/object access DLL using C++ for use by the Visual Basic front end GUI design tool. Designed and implemented a custom VBX for accessing database objects. Implemented process statistic monitoring on the Vax/VMS Gateway product utilizing shared memory and C. Performed a multitude of enhancements to the VMS Gateway product line.

Responsible for maintenance and development of RESOURCE, a major cost accounting/product line management system for the hospital industry. Designed and implemented an on-line help character-based windowing system. Designed and implemented a PROISAM database query utility using C and UNIX compiler tools. Designed and implemented the RESOURCE interfaces, a stand-alone download system that allowed hospitals to load their case mix information into RESOURCE. The system reduced product installation time by 2 to 3 months and was later purchased by McDonnell Douglas to interface RESOURCE with their IHS hospital system. Reduced existing product run times by up to 80%.
