CurrentKey Achievements:• Established Biomedical Science Day, an annual event that empowers thousands of members to hold activities in hundreds of hospitals to promote their work at the heart of healthcare. Social media reach over 2 million. • Secured national media coverage during COVID-19 pandemic on TV, radio and in print from press releases and statements. Utilised media trained members to represent the IBMS’s views in hundreds of interviews. • Developed the communications department from myself as manager and one temporary staff member to a team of five full time staff that includes Head of Communications (myself), Content Manager and three officers. Responsibilities:• Devise and deliver IBMS communications and marketing strategies to support the organisation’s charitable aims and objectives outlined in the corporate strategy. • Provide communications and marketing support across the organisation.• Develop communications plans for IBMS campaigns and projects to promote the organisation, its work, the profession, and achievements of members. • As brand guardian, manage and maintain the IBMS brand and visual identity as well as lead on the development, implementation and monitoring of brand/style guidelines and key messages.• Support stakeholder mapping and develop engagement strategies to support. • Source and manage the procurement of services for producing marketing and communications materials. • Lead on PR and media campaigns to promote the IBMS and the profession.• Act as first point of contact for all media enquiries, including out of office hours.• Lead on and develop the IBMS’s media profile identifying opportunities for press coverage and securing media training for members. • Advise on communications issues and implement crisis communications plans.• Create and develop IBMS policies for staff and membership group communications. • Leadership, line management and development of the communications team.
