Approved Testing/Isolation ElectricianBalfour Beatty Construction Nov 2011 - Jun 2013Heathrow Airport Terminal 2I worked at Heathrow airport on the new terminal 2 construction project, I started on the installation of power and lighting circuits and installing containment under the raised tile floor. As I have qualifications for testing I was transferred to the site temporary electrical team. I carried out safe isolation procedures for electricians working on existing circuits. When a new circuit was installed I would test it before it could be energised, once energised a live test was performed on the circuit and associated protective devices before paper work was signed and filed with the site supervisor. -
Testing TechnicianQuicklight Mar 2011 - Oct 2011NationwideDriving all over the UK carrying out electrical installation condition reports for retail chains on behalf of Quicklight. Outlets included Bathstore, 99p stores, travis Perkins, plumb centre, electric centre, parts centre, thorntons chocolates and a few more. I would visually inspect the property and test it's electrical installation. Any deviations from BS7671 or safety concerns were listed and I then prepared a quotation for remedial work required.

We also completed full office and shop refurbishments for building contractors in the area. We installed new fire alarms and maintained existing alarms. Regular tests are required on fire alarms and emergency lighting so monthly checks are carried out on properties.

ElectricianAmec Mar 2005 - Feb 2007Heathrow Airport Terminal 5Installing power and lighting circuits for staircases and corridors at Heathrow terminal 5. This involved manufacturing uni-strutt frames that were fixed to the ceilings, cable tray and basket was then added to them, cables were then pulled along the containment and cable tied in place. Light fittings were fixed to the underside of the unistrutt, sockets were installed along the corridors with steel conduit dropping from the basket above. This was my first taste of industrial installation and gave me experience working on conduit, cable tray and basket (which has been very handy over the years).
