I have been practicing ministry in internships, volunteering, and most recently as a resident chaplain over the course of the past ten years. My current focus is in hospital chaplaincy. I am currently completing my fifth CPE unit at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. My time at North Park Theological Seminary exposed me to CPE, and the wonderful work of hospital chaplaincy. It is a passion of mine to make sure that patients and their families are able fulfill their spiritual and emotional needs. I have had many accomplishments in this residency. I was part of an integrative project in which I presented on staff perceptions of chaplaincy. I taught staff how to better use chaplains as well as promoting their own self care. I have participated in several emergency situations where crisis management was crucial in making sure that the care was patient-centered, families were taken care of, and that the rest of the staff was in the best state they could be in to do their job well. As a member of the spiritual care team, I have also walked with many families through their process of grieving around hospice and palliative care as well sudden deaths.
