Project Involved Complete Re-Tubing of Units 3&4 Unit 3 was a 350 MW unit. Unit 4 was a 500 MW Unit.Over-all work done was the removal and replacement of Secondary and Primary superheat sections.Including rework and repair to re-heat Economizer tubing. I was responsible for the set up and staging ofall equipment and material. Also responsible for welding of dissimilar heavy wall welding of 347 Stainlesstubing to 9018 Chrome. Both units also has installed Low-Nox and over fired air systems incorporatedinto the Retro- Fit work.Dairyland Power. Project was complete change out of Secondary Superheat section on 500 MW unit.

Oversee the install of all Monorail systems from building access to penthouse. My responsibilities alsoincluded the following. All rigging associated with the installation of new Secondary Superheat elements,installation of new Torque Lugs for the Secondary Superheat Header and Reheat headers. The TorqueLugs were of a design to shift the load from an overhead hanger assembly to a lower support assembly. Ioversaw and coordinated all rigging and final fit ­up of SSH panels and all weld out. Also included in thisproject new installation of roof tubes and roof casing, and water wall work and new penetrations for re-tracks and soot blowers.

My responsibilities were to oversee andcoordinate all critical picks, rigging and setting of SCR duct work., fit-up and weld out and quality Controlacceptance of work. My scope was close association with Fabrication Superintendent and IronworkerSuperintendent to meet time-lines, and Insure proper safety Procedures were followed at all times. Uponarriving, I took control of all scaffold coordination, and Insulators. Total manpower managed was over 50crafts people. The project in Limestone Texas was a complete change out Of Foster Wheeler Burners,Including upgrades to SOFA, and COFA, and Installation of New Beck drive motors. Total manpowermanaged was General, Foreman, 3 Foreman, and crew of 55.

Project scope was Structural re-enforcement and Hanger and support Installation on FTP piping. Workwas done on latest technology, Chiyoda Wet Limestone Flue Gas Desulfurization ( WFGD ) System,designed by Black & Veatch. These new systems incorporated the use of Jet Bubble Reactors.Primary duties were over seeing Pipe Fitter crews doing installation of support systems and weld outs on1200 plus Punch Down list. Creating improvements to work flow processes and material managementwere main priority. Responsibilities included doing Field Engineered modifications, and finding alternativeways to accomplish stated goals. Worked directly with principle Engineer on site, and reported directly tothe Construction Manager. Project was 5 million dollar improvement to existing system.

Project entailed retro fit of 900 mega-Watt unit, installing 8 corner, Low Nox over fired air system.

Secondary and Primary Superheat change out.

New Build out of (2) 110 mega-Watt High Recovery Steam Generators.Primary tasks were the setting of all high pressure drums, vessels, and heavy wall weld outs.

60 Million dollar retro fit and rebuild at Xcel Energy's Alan S King Plant, Bayport Minnesota.Project scope involved removal of lower half of 550 megawatt boiler, replacement of burners, water walland bottom ash system, and structural re-enforcement of the entire balanced draft system. As Foreman,Overall responsibilities included coordination of material movement, rigging, fit up and lay out, weld out,QC, and coordinating scaffold requirements for teams in a fast moving and dynamic work environment.Balanced draft included Gas Recirc ducts, gas outlet ductwork, demo and rebuild of lower slope of AirHeater, economizer hoppers, and bottom ash build out, including crushers. Responsibilities included allHot work permitting, air Monitoring, and Lockout tag out permitting.As General Foreman was the first point of contact with Plant operations, engineering and QC. Teamprovided support regarding completion of bottom Ash, initial Re-start up, Blow Down and critical pathrepairs or alterations.

Oversee and work with 12-person team on the installation of new stainless steel trays in new Ultra LowDiesel reactor towers at the Flint Hills Oil Refinery in Minnesota.On-Call Team Member, Xcel Energy, St. Paul, ongoingPart of an on-call team on the A-list for emergency repairs during non-scheduled shutdowns of Xcel'smain steam generating units. My duties included being the lead mechanic for these repairs, to Guillotine dampersand bearing and actuator assemblies, tube welding, structural replacement of Iron associated withscrubbers and ID and FD ductwork. Left Moorhead at the end of 2004, because work had slowed, and bigger and betterprojects were available to me. My relationship with Moorhead machine has been a good one spanning30 plus years.
