Started my career in logistics with RH Freight, a British family owned business as a freight account manager. The role consists of a blank portfolio in which you are targeted to fill through the process of telesales, appointments, presentations and tenders. You are heavily targeted on revenue and consignments put through the network to ensure you are supporting it and not solely subcontracting. Targets are incremental and the accounts once brought on board are yours to manage as you see fit. This offers a complete experience of both sales and account management. Since January 2013 RH Freight was rebranded as Kuehne-Nagel after a buy out. The role did not change but I was now able to offer a complete multi-modal service of Air, Sea and Road through a one point of contact account manager being myself.
