I'm extremely proud to have played a key role in the successful delivery of two HS2 bridge structures during the Summer of 2023. The first was the highly commended Fulfen Wood reinforced concrete box bridge, which was cast on site and installed during a 9-day blockade of the West Coast Mainline. The Fulfen Wood bridge weighed 6200te and was the heaviest bridge structure to be installed in the UK using Self Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs).The second bridge was Streethay, which was installed during a 72 day blockade of the South Staffordshire Line. This was a 2600te reinforced concrete bridge deck supported on Secant piles and capping beams.Both schemes required the removal and reinstatement of the railway lines.

Site Agent for the recently opened £23M Luton Airport Parkway Station DART footbridge, this included piled foundations, steelwork super structure, two lifts, five escalators and a new waiting shelter.Prior to this I was Site Agent on a number of Midland Mainline Electrification bridge reconstructions, from the planning stages, through to implementation and then hand back.The other projects I delivered during my time at Amco Giffen, included the reconstruction of Awsworth Road Overbridge in Ilkeston, reconstruction of Doe Hill Underbridge near Alfreton, waterproofing River Trent Viaduct at Castle Donington, waterproofing Trent and Mersey Canal bridge on the WCML at Colwich Junction, Staffordshire and Spondon Level Crossing / Station Platform upgrades.My roles included being appointed CRE for temporary works, TWC/TWS, developing Work Scopes, Managing Tenders and Sub Contracts, drafting CPP's, WPP's, TBS, ALO Plans, Basic Lift Plans, AMP Process, Hand Back Files, COSS, Safe Work Manager, Responsible Manager, First Aider, EUSR and Sigma Cat &Genny competencies.

Site Agent for the major refurbishment of Stafford Station on the West Coast Mainline. Responsible for the planning of the £1.4M major refurbishment, which included platform riser wall repairs, new copers, platform drainage, new tactiles, paving slabs, full canopy refurbishments, re-roofing, new skylights and the refurbishment of both footbridges.Prior to this I was Assistant Contracts Manager for the Access For All (AFA) scheme at Wembley Central Station preparing it for the 2012 Olympics.I was also Assistant Contracts Manager working on the Civils Framework Agreement from both Birmingham and Manchester offices and also on site. The CFA was a multi million pound contract for Network Rail LNW delivering repairs or reconstructions to bridges, viaducts, tunnels, retaining walls and earthworks.My first role at Birse Rail was Assistant Programme Manager, responsible for all the front end feasibility, estimating and planning for schemes on the Structures Framework Contract (SFC), which later became the Civils Framework Agreement (CFA).
