A New York City native, Dan Paulson graduated with Honors, receiving a BA from Boston University, and an MBA from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. He began his career at NBC as an executive in the Business Affairs Department. He then left NBC to freelance, producing television commercials and industrial films. Dan then joined 20th Century Fox as a story editor, eventually being promoted to Production Executive until he formed, Daniel L. Paulson Productions. At DLPP, Dan has developed, packaged and produced TV films THADDEUS ROSE AND EDDIE (CBS), executive produced PICTURES OF HOLLIS WOODS (CBS), VICTIMS FOR VICTIMS (NBC) for which he received a CHRISTOPHER AWARD. His feature films include COMES A HORSEMAN (United Artists) Starring James Caan, Jane Fonda, Jason Robards and Richard Farnsworth (Academy Award Nominee, Best Supporting Actor). Other BACKTRACK, PASSENGER 57 (Warner Bros.), and SUNSET PARK (TriStar). At Dick Clark Productions, as VP of Movies and Series, Dan executive produced star-studded TV films including, COPACABANA (CBS), PROMISED A MIRACLE (CBS), HAVEN (mini-series, CBS), which Dan received the HUMANITAS PRIZE. He also executive produced JACK (Showtime); FULL-COURT MIRACLE (Disney Channel) a HUMANITAS PRIZE finalist; SAVING JESSICA LYNCH (NBC), BEST FRIENDS FOR LIFE (CBS), BY DAWN’S EARLY LIGHT (Showtime). For Showtime, Dan produced MR. MUSIC, A COOLER CLIMATE, BONANNO: A GODFATHER’S STORY and GIFT OF LOVE: THE DANIEL HUFFMAN STORY starring Debbie Reynolds. The film received two EMMY nominations for both Dan and Debbie Reynolds.n the reality genre, Dan produced STAFFERS (Discovery Times) as well as pilot presentations: REALITY CHECK (Vh-1), HOT 97 (MTV), and CASINO GIRLS (Oxygen).Under DLPP’s overall agreement with Showtime, Dan produced MR. AND MRS. LOVING, INSIDE, and NORTH SHORE FISH.Dan has produced numerous films for Hallmark Channel and is executive producer of the network's CHESAPEAKE SHORES, now in its 2nd season.

The series stars Jesse Metcalfe, Meghan Ory, Diane Ladd, and Treat Williams and was Hallmark’s highest rated series in 2016.
