As a research liaison at MBF Bioscience I visit labs all over the country and some throughout the world. Experience in Neuroscience research helps me understand goals and come up with solutions using morphometric neuron modeling and unbiased Stereology. The challenge is to help the researcher pick the right tools and procedures to answer their questions. Many of our customers work in the Nervous System, but I also enjoy helping researchers make biological estimates in any type of tissue. This experience plus attending courses such as ‘Practical Workshops in Confocal Microscopy and Design-Based Stereology’ organized by Dr. Daniel Peterson and ‘An Introduction to Stereology for Neuroscientists’ organized by Dr. Mark West have brought me to the point where I am starting to become an expert in the implementation of unbiased stereological probes to estimate such biological characteristics as number, length, area, and volume under the microscope. I still have a lot to learn and look forward to it.
