Dan Picou is a founding partner of Larzelere Picou. He is licensed in Louisiana, Missouri and Texas. He practices in the firm's New Orleans and St. Louis offices. For over thirty years, he has focused his practice on insurance coverage and litigation involving marine, non-marine, energy, property and casualty, and pollution losses. He represents the interests of primary and excess insurers in large and complex claims and litigation throughout the United States, its territories, and other countries. He assists clients in drafting policies and endorsements. He advises clients on claim handling issues, and he speaks on insurance matters. Dan handles a broad range of claims including marine, property and casualty, and onshore and offshore energy, personal injury and death, pollution, and economic loss. He has handled numerous first-party and third-party cases involving property and business interruption claims. He has significant experience in class action and complex litigation. Dan graduated from Tulane University in 1978 and Tulane University Law School in 1981. He then served as a law clerk for the Honorable Patrick Schott of the Louisiana Court of Appeal for the Fourth Circuit before beginning his law practice.
