About Dan Raines
Helping companies and individuals unleash their ingenuity and creativity. To date, I have been fortunate to work with a few fantastic companies. In 2012, I found Tableau and went on a journey that surpassed all my expectations. I will forever be grateful for the breadth of skills and extensive experience I gained in Sales, Channel and Operations during my time at Tableau.In 2016, I joined The Information Lab and was tasked with driving the revenue of our highly regarded Data School programme. Revenue was £0.7m when I started and, over the last 7 years, I have grown that part of the business to £10m in annual recurring revenue. With The Information Lab, I have worked with everyone from 3 person companies to massive GSIs, utilising technology, process and, most importantly, the people behind it to deliver real value from data. My mission is to connect with people on an authentic level through curiosity, empathy and by understanding their true objectives. My aim is to help people get to where they want to go. My move into Channel Sales allowed me to develop a different set of skills as I was responsible for the development and growth of the channel strategy across the UK and Ireland. This involved both Sales and Technical Readiness, Pipeline Creation and Conflict Resolution across a range of Alliance, VAR, DMR and SI partners. I seized partner mindshare through the development of successful sales enablement programs and helped create several key initiatives to onboard new partners and assist with ramping them on Tableau. Other key aspects of my Channel role included Relationship Building and Conflict Management, Go to Market Planning (Activation), assisting with the launch of new internal and external channel programs, and launching sales initiatives plans in software selling. In essence, my role was to maximise revenue for both partner and vendor, through sales, marketing and technical enablement. I did this initially across the UK, Benelux and Nordic markets, but later focused solely on the UK sector. Finally, I joined the internal enablement team with a focus on the EMEA region. This was working with stakeholders and managers across the EMEA team to ensure our sales team had the correct go-to-market messaging.
