Responsible for the P&L, strategy, operations, and leadership of the International Division of H&R Block. Work with CEO and Board of Directors to set a long range strategic plan and execute annual operating plans of a $300M+ Division, spanning operations in 4 countries and serving clients in approximately 140 countries.-Lead and work with in-country general managers and teams (10,000+ full time and seasonal employees) to set and execute against annual operating plans to drive revenue, client and earnings growth.-Work with teams to develop and enhance retail, digital and virtually assisted product offerings to our clients.-Align long range strategy and desired outcomes of programs with the strategic objectives of the business. -Full P&L and business responsibility (ops, marketing, IT, Finance, Legal, etc.) for the International and Expat business, generating client growth in ~140 countries.

Responsible for all aspects of H&R Block’s Corporate (Facilities) and Field Real Estate strategy and execution in order to optimize the overall real estate portfolio. -Develop and implement real estate strategy for all markets. -Management of Facilities Department, building engineers, space planning/designers and construction personnel for the Corporate HQ and other corporate properties -Creation of a robust real estate distribution model for market planning and site selection.-Responsible for the Company’s relationship with its outside real estate management companies and all other vendors engaged in real estate activities. -Responsible for maximizing profitability for real estate investments and managing overall real estate capital expenditure budget, nearly $100M annually.-Coordination with Brand owners and other Senior leaders to determine future office and space designs, both at Corporate HQ and field-based Retail offices. -Responsible for managing office upgrades to meet Brand standards including exterior signage.-Responsible for interactions with Senior leaders to provide updates and gain approval on real estate plans.-Coordination of the accounts payable function for field leases and related expenses managed by the outside real estate management company.-Responsible for the development of management reports to be utilized by the Company to measure its investment in and performance of real estate.

• Development Strategy – Lead team responsible for all market planning and development strategy, including new restaurant development and other portfolio actions for existing two brands (3,400 domestic restaurants, 400+ franchisees). • Franchisee Transactions/Assignments – Leads cross functional team through the due diligence and consent process for large proposed franchisee transactions and assignments (acquisition/divestitures, MBOs, LBOs, ownership transfers, SLBs, etc.) that are submitted to IHOP and APPB for consent. Develop recommendations to senior management on submitted transactions and identify potential solutions to any issues that are identified. Internally, work and align with Brand Presidents, Dine Equity CEO, CFO and Legal and act as process lead and chief negotiator with Franchise Principals, CFOs and Legal teams to obtain all necessary documentation and negotiate terms of consent and draft related agreements. Keep executive team members informed of progress and identify potential areas of involvement. • Workouts/Takebacks – Provide expertise, guidance and leadership around distressed franchisee situations. Work with Franchise Finance Department to identify franchisees that are facing financial hardship and may not be able to adhere to Franchise Agreement commitments. Provide immediate and reactionary solutions to unexpected franchisee defaults or non-payment of royalties. Direct communication with internal Executive Teams and external Franchise Principals, lending institutions, landlords, business brokers, etc., constituents to effectively manage process to restructure distressed franchisees. Maintain solid working relationships with external players for utilization when issues arise.• Restaurant Development - Within the Applebee’s brand, negotiate franchise agreements, remodel schedules, development agreements, supplements, defaults, terminations, closures.

• M&A Activity – Led cross-functional team responsible for divesting of nearly 500 Applebee's restaurants to new and existing franchisees. Reported directly to CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Resulted in a company debt reduction of over $1B over the project lifespan. Project was successfully completed in October, 2012.• Corporate Finance - Directed all aspects of corporate finance for Applebee's International (prior to merger), including $400M credit facility, capital spending and analysis, investor relations influence, etc. and all aspects of franchisee finance. With DineEquity (post merger with IHOP), guided corporate structure strategy as it pertained to acquiring/divesting of real estate and restaurant assests/operations and executed those strategies.
