Project Engineer working with San Diego natural gas pipeline replacement and construction.• Experience as a project engineer working with San Diego Gas & Electric and SoCal Gas on a 7-mile long replacement project for a 16-inch diameter, steel, high pressure natural gas pipeline as part of the utility company’s Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan. • Experience in construction, hydrotesting, project management, and engineering of the new gas line.• Reviewed engineering drawings and worked with drafters to progress drawing packages and exhibits to construction level, review as-built drawings to close out project.• Participating and running project meetings to ensure project is on schedule and to coordinate deliverables between construction team members in the field, utility company clients, and contractors working on the project.• Experience submitting permits through Caltrans, MTS, City of San Diego, and City of La Mesa and planning and attending meetings with the permitting agencies to get permit packages approved. Utilized permit agency feedback to have pipeline design changes completed that allowed permit packages to be approved. • Experience in materials ordering, reviewing construction contract documentation and updating project scope, reviewing construction contractor change orders and working with clients to negotiate change orders.• Experience designing and permitting multiple jack and bores (36-inch diameter, 400-feet long) through Caltrans and MTS facilities, and supported construction crews during jack and bore construction through site visits to the field. This also involved meeting with bore contractors to obtain their input on our design.
