Construction Manager for the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) scope of work for the Concourse A/B Connector and Baggage Handling System (BHS) project at the Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport. This project consisted of a Construction Manager At-Risk (CMAR) Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contract of approximately $400 million. Responsible for execution of the prime contract including technical and managerial leadership. Engineering support for a test facility expansion at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. Aided both construction and design engineering.  Construction duties included assistance with preconstruction activities, construction procedure development, construction quantities and schedule development, planning / logistics, and constructability reviews.  Design engineering duties included responsibility for the mechanical design for real property which consisted of potable water, sanitary water, fire protection, and HVAC systems.

MECHANICAL GROUP SUPERVISOR:Group supervisor of the mechanical discipline for the Wylfa Newydd Nuclear Power project. This is a new build consisting of two Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (ABWR) units to be located in Wales, UK. The scope of the project includes several Balance of Plant (BOP) systems and structures.- Assigns work for eleven (11) engineers. - Manages deliverables in accordance with scope, budget, and schedule. - Responsible for technical oversight which includes review and approval of calculations, drawings, and design documents. - Involved daily with joint venture (JV) and client interface on status, to resolve design issues, and development of the design.EARLY PROJECT DEVELOPMENT:First mechanical representative on project. Led the development of mechanical scope, budget, and schedule for the entire project.- Demonstrated company capabilities and gained trust with our JV partners. SENIOR NUCLEAR ENGINEER:Senior engineer on design change packages for the Southern Nuclear Company (SNC) operating nuclear power plants (Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, and Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant). - Developed budget and schedule for design change packages, including preparation of the contract work orders- Determined design approach and scope of major plant modifications through studies, analyses, and walkdowns- Continued role as technical subject matter for dry spent fuel storageEXPERIENCE:- Preparation of specification for refueling machine replacement at Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant. This included involvement with vendor and equipment selection.- Led the flooding re-evaluation for all SNC plants (e.g., probable maximum flooding and probable maximum precipitation analyses). This included coordination with technical staff (hydrology), the client, and with the NRC.- Led and also prepared calculations for emergency action levels (EAL) for all SNC plants based upon revised NEI guidance. These calculations set the established limits for notification to the NRC and/or public in regards to either a liquid or gaseous release from an accident.- Performed studies for the replacement of the control room HVAC equipment, turbine building chillers, and water treatment system at Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant.- Lead mechanical / nuclear engineer for the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant large ISFSI expansion project.- Involved in radiation monitor replacement for all SNC plants.

This project consisted of all changes to the plant and site to accommodate processing and storage of dry spent fuel in concrete casks. This included oversight for all disciplines on all associated design change packages in regards to scope, budget, and schedule.- Technical subject matter expert for 10 CFR 72 or dry spent fuel storage, including licensing through 10 CFR 72.48 screening / evaluations.- Led the safety analyses for the ISFSI installation on site. This included fire / explosion hazards and radiological release / dose to public hazards.NEAR-TERM TASK FORCE TEAM MEMBER:Selected and participated as a team member for the flooding walkdowns and evaluations for VEGP Units 1 & 2 to support NRC Near-Term Task Force (NTTF) Recommendation 2.1 and 2.3 as a result of the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear accident.
