I am co-owner of Software Resource Publications, a contract writing and editing firm. I work as a development editor for educational publishers, including Cengage Learning, and I have written and edited many user guides for computer software developers. As a development editor, I work closely with authors to help produce effective and professional textbooks. As a technical writer, my clients have included cancer researchers, cellular microscopists, genetic researchers, and universities. In my early years with The Software Resource, I had a long-term assignment with Geometrics and ADAC to document their 3D radiation treatment planning system for cancer patients. Geometrics was acquired in 1996 by ADAC, which in turn was acquired by Philips Healthcare in 2002.

Wrote and edited user manuals for Nicolet's infrared spectrometry systems. Position required knowledge of the scientific principles that shaped the company’s technology and governed its use in laboratories. Worked closely with company’s engineers, software designers, and marketing staff to produce effective and professional publications. Wrote Magna-IR System manual, which won Best of Show in Society for Technical Communication competition, 1992.

Hazleton (now Covance Laboratories) is a contract testing corporation for drugs, chemicals, and foods in Madison. I wrote, edited, and coordinated scientific reports for client and governmental approval. Supervised department's administrative staff, including purchasing, sample entry, and data entry workers.
