Yarm School's Design Technology Department has a large reputation for producing some fantastic outcomes and grades at both GCSE and A Level. This has given me a great ability to work with enthusiastic and motivated young designers. I have been given full autonomy over my teaching and have developed several schemes of work as well as many group activities that work with local businesses to enhance the school's input in the local community. As part of my responsibilities I managed and coach the U15 boys rugby team. This has given me the ability to help students develop outside of the classroom. I am also a commissioned officer in the CCF and assist in the running of the school's CCF as well as being part of many outdoor education trips including assessing the Gold DofE expeditions.
