Tasked with understanding, managing and embedding a credit risk philosophy across the Paysafe European Acquiring and North American operations. - Creation of new tools to aid the management, understanding and monitoring of credit risk across the PaySafe Payment Processing business unit.- Creation and embedding of credit risk strategy across all payment processing business units. In the process helping to drive productivity within the team and significantly reduce bad debt lossesInvolved in a number of projects to improve policies, systems and review techniques within the team and the wider business, so as to drive efficiencies in the management and review of the risk portfolioHaving successfully implemented a number of changes, I was tasked with creating and leading a new Counterpart, Banking and NBFI Risk Analysis vertical within the company.

Establish all new bank, card scheme, APM and NBFI counterparties to WorldPay post divestment from RBS.Quantify and define counterparty risks and implement process to review risk.Create a strategy and maintain a helicopter view of a diverse portfolio to better risk manage said portfolioAttend meetings to support the business and understand client operating models and risksProduce credit papers of suitable calibre to be presented to credit committees.Coaching and development of others within the risk teamInvolvement in projects away from core role to support the development and evolution of the department and the wider business.Publication of developments and ideas through multiple communication techniques.Identify and manage work outs for stressed credit situations Liaise with the business, members of the credit team and the legal department regarding the management of security / collateral.

Analyse counterparty accounts, trading activity, counterparty operating model and the sector the merchants operate within, including competitor comparison.Compare this analysis to the level of credit the merchant had or were applying for and judge the appropriate credit amount to extend or not, with the rationale behind the decision communicated directly the merchant.Grade the merchant in line with Euler's credit grading system and set a credit level.Liaise with the account managers and the merchants directly.Have direct recourse to the merchants.Be responsible for discussing the situation further with the merchant should they be unhappy with the decision.

This jobs main focus is customer interaction, being on the front line when it comes to dealing with customers helped me to develop a range of communication skills from negotiation and salesmanship, to interaction and empathy with members of the public.
