Dan Steines has been part of the agricultural industry for over 25 years. Graduating from Kirkwood Community College with an associate degree in Agriculture in 1995, Dan began with Gringer Feed & Grain. He learned from industry giant Don Gringer the importance of providing superior customer service with quality products at a fair price. Those principles were instrumental when, in 2002, Dan became a founding partner with Amana Seed. It was during this period that Dan established himself as an expert seedsman. In August of 2007, Big Country Seeds was founded when Amana Seed was dissolved. Working from the tailgate of his truck and a 1,000 square foot garage, Dan ventured off to share his knowledge and optimism with a handful of clients. Guided by the core principles instilled in him, Dan and Big Country Seeds has grown into one of the area's most respected and successful distributors of seed, chemicals, fertilizer and ice melt.
